    They said they're taking a step back from art until further notice, for undisclosed reasons. Maybe one day they'll return.

    But... why wipe their galleries? This is far from the first time and I always wonder, why do artists do this? I need help... relating to it; I'd never dream of wiping my previous work if I took even an indefinite, hellish-stress-induced break from it...

    Twitter is gone yes, but they did not wipe FA though, it's just disabled.

    That's more of a technical oversight or omission on FA's part. The expectation on gallery sites is that disabling your userpage would also hide or delete your posts. This is how Twitter and DeviantArt operate. For some reason, FA doesn't follow industry standards here and keeps links to individual posts active.

    Don't get me wrong, it's useful for archival, but I think it's usually a lack of awareness on artists' part that posts are left accessible on FA after disabling their account. Since the account is disabled, they also don't get the opportunity to hide or delete them if they are made aware of this after the fact.

    True, my point was in this specific case that he still has chosen to disable it rather than outright delete it.
