  • (disclaimer:not a lawyer) In most jurisdictions, therapists are required to report active or imminent harm to a child. They are not required to report other crimes; looking at cp almost certainly falls under patient confidentiality. Otherwise it would be impossible to get treatment for things like drug addiction.

Having said that, patient confidentiality doesn't prevent an unethical therapist from reporting things, so you damn well better trust your therapist before admitting any crimes, whether it involves CP or not.

  • If he opened up about the way she acted with him as a child and her grooming him to like this kind of stuff by sending it to him, I'd say he's likely to get some sympathy.

But unfortunately he can't recognize how much of a problem she is. Abuse in any form as a child can cause them to be okay with or even seek out that treatment as an adult because they don't actually expect to be treated differently.

What Reth did was take advantage of the situation Leto had with his home life to get him to trust her and rely on her no matter what she does.
It'd needless to say that Leto is not the only child Reth has done this to. I really wonder how he would react if he knew how many other people she's groomed...

Its really sad to me because Leto is willing to accept all of Reth's "faults" because he thinks that she is his special friend -- but she's not -- he's just another tool she's used to please her sick desires.
Now he's falling in deep and it's all for nothing...

I don't know if he will be able to get out of this spiral before it's too late. Honestly, I doubt it :(

And here's the #1 reason why this happens in the first place, people too scared to get help
