I think what they mean to say is that it doesn't matter if she's sometimes scary, not that they actually believe Carol is pure evil. If that's what you meant, then it's a lovely sentiment and I totally agree; these two are adorable!

Like Daniel once said, that feeling of icy terror she gives him will always melt away into warmth and affection. It doesn't matter that she sends a chill up his spine every time she's near, he knows that's not her fault and just appreciates her for who she really is. Unfortunately, a single word can completely undermine an otherwise nice comment. :c
