  • "If you get me some chocolate too, I'll hide her slippers for you!"

Post involving Alexander and Valentine's Day.

Not sure of daughter's suggestion on hiding slippers is romantic or the water god has been pelted by them in the past for forgetting.

Gloria can get really furious at Alex if he forgets to do something. When that happens, she often uses La Chancla (or The Flip-Flop) to get her point across.

I took it to be more of a distraction, so she'd be busy looking for her slippers to make time for Alexander.

  • Second panel...

Oh, lordy, Chris! Don't EVER do that again! (JAWS theme playing in background...).

Actually, it's kind of endearing, in a mildly frightening way.

  • When i did character stuffs.

I always went for asthetics first, see who they are what they're powers did and how that influences how they interacted with the world, then flaws, since their powers created alot of self assurence, i ask how they fail, when they fuck up, since you can't be THAT good without alot of flaws, and usually have them go through the 5 stages of greif when something goes awry, giving them thoughts and worries throughout the narrative.

Taught me characters work best when their greatest strength is also their weakness, impatient speedster gets in trouble with the law, forcing the police to tighten their grip on the city even after falling under an attack, man with super strength is feared by his friends whom forced him out of town where they realize alot of crime supressed itself due to his presence, prettiest girl ever gets alot of unwanted attention leading to her kidnapping.

And these are all off the top of my head!!

But point is, most people don't know these keys to story telling and how they work, which makes them ineffective at telling their story.

granted there are many ways to tell a story, the above, from what i've seen, seems to be the core principle, your characters strength is also their grwatest weakness, somewhow...
