MemberIf he did, it isn't "because Leto couldn't talk to him" it's because he was already at the point. He literally said he's having a bad night, which means he's probably pretty close to the edge and is looking for some support so he doesn't do anything. Leto saying no isn't driving him to suicide, it's just taking away one pillar of support that night while he's already down.

MemberNo offense but this is said in the tone of voice of someone who's never had suicidal thoughts. I have both been the person in danger and had friends in danger. Want to know what one of the causes of me needing to call an anti-suicide help line was? We had run out of chocolate-mint cookies. I am not joking. I was already having a bad night and wanted a pick-me-up treat but there weren't any left so my next thought while looking in the cupboard was instead to reach into the knife drawer. Which had me instead reaching for the phone after I had already pulled the drawer open.
Suicidal thoughts are not logical. When you are already in a bad way even the smallest things can tip you over into "Guess I'll just kill myself" territory. And even if Howl doesn't intend to kill himself he may cut too deep or in the wrong place and do it anyways. We've seen the cuts on his arms already, he's been very lucky that he never cut into some of the veins on the arm that can be really close to the surface.

MemberAs someone who's suffered through depression and suicidal thoughts, especially when I feel I can't go to my friends for any sort of mental ease, this is very very close-minded of you to say. Vladspellbinder said it all better than I could.
Howl was in desperate need of some form of companionship and because Leto was too busy masturbating and drinking his ass away he pretty much left Howl to his own devices even when had he not been drinking he'd know Howl was having a terrible time. He could've AT LEAST stopped, let Howl in, and maybe offer some quiet companionship at the very very very least, but no, he's too busy drinking to think about his friend who he knows is not mentally well and hadn't been for years. When troubled people like that pull the "I'm having a terrible time" thing, that's usually a red flag that something's wrong.
It makes the fact that Leto freaked out about his friends abandoning him rather ironic when you think about it. Sure, it's not rational, but it's still ironic. Pot meet Kettle.
Ngl, I'm trying my damndest to not sound "victim blamey", but I'm just getting more angry (well, more frustrated, but ya know... the two tend to coincide with me) at Leto as the end draws near. He's not even trying to stop this fallout anymore, he's just letting himself fall deeper and deeper into this pit that Reth started and he keeps on digging that hole she made for him.

MemberIt's really hard reading this comic because while I have, personally, been at the bottom and thought about getting the dynamite to keep going deeper but I pulled myself out. I had, past tense, a friend who didn't so I understand the signs and how hard it can be to help someone who doesn't want help.
(Some) Teenagers aren't rational at the best of times and with Leto he's got extra reasons to be irrational. It's understandable why he's the way he is. Doesn't make it any less frustrating though.
