i love how everyone tags this as cub even though zaush claims it isn't. 'just small breasted ladies'

It's like when Tsampikos debuted his otter Mik. Everyone's like "that's either a cub or a C-boi". The artist said, "Uh, no, I'm the artist and this is what it is."

Internet was like, "Lol, like the artist gets to tell people what it is."

Death of the Author/Artist is a very real concept. The artists intended interpretation only exists in their head, not in reality. How a work is perceived and received by an audience and how they interpret the work is entirely out of their hands.

So if you draw tiny, smol chested ladies because you like doing that, and have males literally twice their size rail them, people ARE going to simply assume it's pedo-pandering, it doesn't matter what the artist has to say about it. So either adjust the art to communicate your intention better, or deal with people misinterpreting your work for ever, trying to "correct" people is futile.

It's the whole "Tag-what-you-see and not-what-you-know" rule of the site. The artist could have very well said that the character is just a smaller individual with small breasts...but there is nothing in the comic to indicate that specifically. The character has not said her age or anything to indicate she isn't a cub. So....the rule of the site is "tag what you see". And most people see her as a cub based on her body proportions so it gets tagged as cub.

Probably the only way to get around that would be to add some sort of lore-based "non-cub" tag. It's a bit of a stupid rule sometimes if you ask me because I actually had a flag against me for tagging something improperly. The artist even put in the image description under the image that a character was female so I kept changing the tags to represent that and was flagged for something like "improper tagging" and was told to follow the "tag-what-you-see" rule and if I were to use the "female" tag, then I needed to make a "lore" tag with it which I didn't know was a thing because they had just started using the "lore" tags like a day before the incident.

It doesn't help that Zaush also draws quite a lot of cub porn, and has gone on record "retconning" previous works of such to be "not cub" through snippets of dialog. It is absolutely pedo-pandering, you don't really have to assume anything.

Ambiguous meaning. We dont know if Zaush is male or female. Therefore, we use "they"

sometimes people who speak other languages are confused about "they", for them "they" only means a "group of people" and not a neutral gender. there is no neutral gender in many languages so they end up commenting on these mistakes that "they" means a "group of people"

also, i'm from brazil i've been through this, there is no neutral gender here.

But Zaush's name is Adam Wan, isn't it? So, it can be implied, it's a him.

two diffrent artists iirc. Zaush likes small woman art (can argue cub, but fact is adult women that small exist. but then again if it isnt cub its dancing over the edge flaunting it). Adam Wan is more realistic proportions (like how zootopia depicts various antro races)

  • To be fair, this is not pedo-porn this is hebe-porn. Yes. There is a difference. The daughter is clearly in at least early stages of puberty, thus the onset of sexual maturity. This was a VERY common age to be treated as old enough to marry and become sexually active among ancient tribal humans, and even our earliest civilizations due to the average life expectancy seldom exceeding 40 years. If nothing else, I'd say adding this societal aspect to the comic adds to the immersion and believability of the story. I see it as futile to hate this presentation of it since none of us would exist without those ancient ancestors who used to marry at 12 years old.

As to the tagging of the art, artist's canon lore doesn't matter. Art is tagged on e621 based on what is seen. We may know that the intended lore says she's an adult. Since I've never seen a different tag to differentiate between pedo and hebe, cub is an accurate tag for this comic. A tag followed by _(lore) can be applied however for what the intended canon might be. I learned of this myself, the hard way in a debate with a mod over whether two different pictures of clearly the same character should be tagged as the same gender, where as one was tagged as andromorph and intersex, and the other as female, all due to a viewing angle.

Nope, they're the same artist. Even in the artist wiki on this site states that Adam Wan is another alias for Zaush

I wouldnt be surprised if this is true. You'd be surprised by the amount of girls Ive seen at the bar that are 5ft nothing or shorter with completely valid IDs and such, a few of them could legally be dwarfs but I dont know exactly how short you have to be to be considered that, could be skirting just above the line. I swear something is in the water around here. But the point is? we dont know so it goes to the default unless outright stated in the picture that they are not. in my example isnt like they got a ID pinned to their chest.

Zaush loves that position, doesn't they?

yes in fact i think their matting press is a bit different then others we see hands on floor or wall not really on ankle i think we should name this position after them cuz when the artits draw this the bottom paws look like top paws ergo why i think it should be called feet_up_sexcoaster.

why "they"? Are there many people working on the comics?

there's like 2 or 3 artist as far as I know content creators have circles with there peers witch usually see things early for added input help n whatnot some people work entirely solo but as far as I know n can imagine this is rare or at least uncommon

Nah, Zaush is Adam Wan's username. They're interchangable between each other.
