  • Honestly, I didn’t want to point that out for the longest time but why do they make male cartoon cows have udders if they’re supposed to be male. That bothered me for so long. And I guess it still does, but is there really going to be hate on something that was designed that way from birth/creation?

They don't want kids to know animals are divided up based on sex, cows are female and bulls are male. Cows give birth and produce milk for the baby, and the baby gets separated from the mother after a few days so they can make milk for humans. Bulls get raised for veal/beef/seed. Same for Chickens and Roosters, same animal different fate based on if they can produce offspring.

IIRC, director said it would look funny when even males had udders, so they went with it

That's only factory farming that does that. There's farms that dont practice that they will normally keep them all togather and will raise them that way, they also dont separate the offspring if it isn't factory farm based. I think your putting way too much thought into something that was designed as a child's movie. It also sounds like your a vegan who dislikes the use of animals to make products. Excuse my assumption if I'm wrong but how you said that gave me some major vegan vibes and not the good kind neither I'm talking about the vegan teacher kind lol.

Really? I didn't knew thatm the movie is much more progressive than I give credit for

No, silly. It is someone desperately clinging to cartoons to seek validity.

It is just that kids and some people think that every bovine is cow... kinda like Yaks.

And the animators just didn't care.

That is a fair question, I mean what are we gonna do besides know the difference?
Maybe they enjoyed drawing utters and if they went with male they probably felt inclined to add something that really doesn't need to be there, IDK just guessing.

Because Steve Oedekerk figured that city folk thought all cows look like that (or at least that's what the wiki says)
