Also, based on all their interaction thusfar, I don't actually see Chris as distant. I mean, he is, but I think there's a different undertone here as well.
I think Chris is just not attracted to her as a prostitute. He would rather value somebody for what they are rather than what they are paid to do. He'd be more attracted to her if he got to see her more as a person. -- All of this is strengthened by how he asked if she liked wearing the hooker clothes, and he notes that she looks better without them. He also softens up when Nora shows him a deeper side of her by talking about how his scars are memories.

Chris is stoic by nature but he isn't just being completely uncordial to Nora (otherwise he wouldn't have even gone with her) -- he's actually subtly respecting her.

Already this dynamic is on FIRE.

And I can't say it enough -- Nora's character design is gorgeous!

I even feel the need to repeat myself:
