From what I understand, the part with the spider is set 14 years before the events of the humans, so that part in the beginning there the main spooder captures the dragon egg, its actually her egg.

Yeah from what I'm hearing it's even better because they condense the 2nd book into the story 3 which I have to admit everything everything post dryder form, It's a bit of a slog. I really do hope we get a season too though.
