One of them was a low-res version that was replaced by a superior, higher-res version.

This is actually super helpful to understand the site better, as a lot of artist tags had numbers that seemed higher than the pictures on display and I was wondering why. Thanks for the explanation!

To add to that, you can add " status:any " to the artist search, and it will show deleted pages. Often there will be a take-down reason.
