"Kathrin in Trouble pt4"
Sketch of the 1148th page of TwoKinds.
Transcript
Kathrin: Help!
Kathrin: There’s someone here! Help!
CLINK!
Romulus: Not so fast!
Kathrin: No! Let go! Let–!
Romulus: Quiet!
Romulus: There… that’s better. I gotta admit… I dunno how you did that, but you really got me! Nice one!
Romulus: But enough games. Let’s try this again: Tell me exactly where Zen is. Now.
Kathrin: Zen… Zen isn’t in this hall, he’s in the next wing, f-first door on the left…
Romulus: Good girl.
Kathrin: Huh? W-why–?
Romulus: This was supposed to be my gift for Zen. But if he’s so injured, I doubt he’ll put up much of a fight, anyway.
Romulus: And I have a feeling the boss will like you.

Member... This actually reminds me of an old cartoon. I think it was called Magi.
One of the relics was a legit conversion tool from bad guy to good guy. The only catch being that it could backfire.
Wish I could remember the show now
Iunderstand
MemberYa know it’s a pity I really like Romulus and his brother but now they gotta die horrible prolonged deaths simply on the principle that they attacked Kathrin and nibbly, and I’m sorry but if you assault Kay or nibs it’s capital punishment no if’s and’s or but’s
Iunderstand
MemberKat autocorrect is great

When you remember Clovis is basically the Ramsay Bolton of Twokinds.
TenchiZero
MemberI got a feeling Eric will know that Romulus enslaved Kat, and will make him wish he could just die. And might do so without even using magic at all.
yugijak
MemberFunny thing is I have a theory about that.
Kat tends to become attracted to whoever saves her life. Or at the very least is very easy to influence that way.
It could be possible this offers Eric an opportunity to be her rescuer this time or even expound on the horrors of the collars.
One thing is pretty certain: this is horribly cruel.
Side note: is it also possible this collar ends up on Clovis or Romulus? That'd be... Intriguing

MemberShould have kicked him in the balls like I said. He certainly wouldn't have been grinning after that.

MemberThis may also give more sway to Eric, furthering the distinction between him and others. Yes he's a slave collector, but he is also the kind who genuinely cares for them as individuals (as we've seen, he may be a part of a bad system, but he's not inherently a bad person). In this case, seeing someone hurt Kat may be a reminder that he's much more of a good person.
Also, might be a chance for him to flex his proverbial muscles and show that he's not JUST a rich playboy
yugijak
MemberThat too.
If anything it might give him an arc of his own. He's largely just played a part alongside the rest of the cast but this may be the spark which starts his own development in the story

MemberYou've got a weird definition of the word funny. But i do agree that we need some development on the bad guys, they're not worth it as bad guys if they literally pose no threat. We've been on vacation too long for the bad guys to just disappear on us again in a few pages.
He'd also probably be alot more pissed off as well. Also he would have expected that. Nobody expects a magic knife out of nowhere.

MemberIt seems that Clovis was on his way out he probably still wants Zen's head but will leave that for the others until Reno swooped in but I don't think the wolf terrorists will stick around for too much longer though I suspect once they lay a paw on Zen they'll teleport out immediately like how they fled when Reni arrived and smacked Brutus off the wall.
In my head the main conflict is Trace fighting his imperfect double and rescuing Maren but there is no doubt in my mind his Mansion will come off even worse than it is probably ending with "AI Rose" getting damaged in an attempt to stop clone trace with maybe more corruption for Trace as well.

MemberI would be really biting my nails for future pages of the comic if Tom didn't have a years-long habit of needing 3-4 weeks to make a new page. The recent schedule has been nice, but I have my doubts he can maintain it. Given that, this page is really depressing. If this isn't resolved in 3-4 pages, then how many years (our time) will it be? I really liked Kat as a character, I don't look forward to now only occasionally seeing her, and then only in misery and servitude, for the next 3-4 years.
I mean, Raine only kicked off the whole "Mansion going crazy" thing and was abducted in January. Of 2020.
I'm a subscriber to Tom's Patreon and like the art he releases through that, but I really miss when TwoKinds was a regularly-updating webcomic.
Sekriess
MemberI doubt he'd do that to Kat. We still have to find Zen. And obviously he seems to be bringing Kat with him to Zen so really it depends on how things pan out with Zen.
CamKitty
MemberWould be rich if he got offended by collar usage given his history, even up to recently
That is the self defense best defense
Drakkenfyre
MemberHe'd never do that to Kat. As I said on the previous page, Kat is the most popular character on the cast. This has been evident for a long time.
Agreed on the updating, though. I get salty when I'm checking for a new page and two-three weeks have gone by with nothing, but that featured Patreon sketch on the left's been updated 5 or 6 times.

MemberAlright, well, I would more or less agree. Romulus wanting to hunt down Zen means there's a chance to save Kat, and Zen's not in his room so there's still opportunity for Romulus to find his downfall (and Kat her salvation) in the mansion. Maybe Erik will get his turn to be a hero. Do we know where Erik is? I can't remember after 18 months...
Also, somehow I completely missed that I was saying Raine was abducted, when it was Maren, because I'm dumb.
Edit: I think we last saw Erik on page 1087 (https://twokinds.keenspot.com/comic/1087/ ), which shows him at the pool, but he subsequently doesn't appear as Trace is announcing that he wants to marry Flora, nor does he seem to appear anywhere during the fight sequence at the pool. Hiding from battle? Wandered off and somehow oblivious to what's going on? Going to mysteriously re-appear as a deus ex in a dramatic moment?

MemberWell it seems that Clovis blowing off a chunk of the mansions railing away, Remus yelling while falling to his (alleged) death... (i dont think the stairs were as tall as we might think), a dragon fighting in the dungeon, among other things isn't making as much noise as we might think it would. The mansions practically under siege and Kat's completely oblivious to it. Erik may have simply left the pool room. And Zen may very well be in his room. He is down the hall in another wing after all.
