That's horrible and I am 100% sure I wouldn't do it. If I had to choose who dies though, if they die instantly, I'd kill them, if I die instantly and they die slowly and painfully, by my own hand, I'd kms. Why? Because killing someone slowly would put a burden on me leading me to kill myself regardless, if they die instantly or quite quickly, at least I'd know they died with little to no pain and I survived because of my survival instinct, which for me would be more bearable.
