What's the difference?

This is not meant to be serious, I was just illustrating how people explained the difference to me and how I imagined it in my head :P

Thank you so much for your comments! I appreciate every one, even if I can't answer them all!

  • This is what I find to be the popular interpretation. I personally feel like "I want" relates to immediate greed while "I would like" relates the a considered desire for something in the future.

  • But what if you use I wish, I would like, and I want, in one sentence? How will you present that, dragon, huh? "I would like to get that cupcake, because I wish to sate my hunger, and I want the one with strawberry."
