Tanissi is a skilled mercenary, assassin, and soldier. She was born in a small village in Elsweyr. For the duration of her childhood, she was the sickly runt of her litter. Her best friend, Lahari, would often need to carry her lunch pack to the schoolhouse for her, and she was ridiculed for her weakness amongst the village’s children.

One fateful evening, shortly following the end of the Planemeld, a portal to Coldharbour was opened in her village, though it is unknown who opened it, or for what purpose. Regardless, the result was disastrous. The village was burned to the ground, and the few Khajiit who weren’t consumed by the daedra fled into the surrounding jungle, Tanissi among them, very quickly ending up alone as the few survivors scattered.

Tanissi ran for as long as she could, before nearly passing out. In a fateful stroke of luck, she stumbled right into Xul-Maar, an immensely powerful Argonian sorcerer, credited with playing a pivotal role in ending the Planemeld. This would prove to be a blessing in disguise. Xul-Maar took Tanissi in as his apprentice, inducting her into The Enclave, an elite group of warriors, for which membership could only be obtained via an apprenticeship, or a truly extraordinary deed, such as Xul-Maar’s aforementioned feat. Xul-Maar trained her into a powerful warrior, helping her to overcome her sickness, and then some.

Xul’s effort culminated in one of the deadliest Nightblades in all of Tamriel. By the time she reached adulthood, Tanissi had already become well known across the continent. Despite her anti-social childhood, she became known for her nearly irresistible silver tongue, often at the center of any party she ended up at. She was even more infamous for her seductive charms, which she directed solely at other women, much to the disappointment and frustration of the numerous men that attempted to court her or the women who she so often stole away for one night stands.

Her allegiance originally lied with the Aldmeri Dominion, personally advising the Queen on many occasions. However, upon arriving in Black Marsh and uncovering a Dominion plot that involved the murder of countless individuals to sow distrust amongst the Pact, she quickly defected, joining the Ebonheart Pact, which she defended passionately in the Alliance War, despite being seen as a traitor by most of her people, and a criminal in the eyes of the Dominion.

From this point, her story once again becomes deeply entwined with her long lost friend, Lahari, and as for that… well you’ll just have to wait until my first commission of her to find out!
