Keeps unwanted foreign bodies out of their vagina, e.g. dirt, water. Unfortunately the prehensile clitoral hood isn't strong enough to prevent forced introduction of foreign bodies not excluding penis or phallus of any kind.

Actually, if I recall correctly, one of the ostensible functions of the prehensile clitoral hood was to prevent rape. Also, I know it's just a drawing, but I don't think that given the anatomy forced entry would be possible without first prying it out of the vagina, so what I'm saying is I don't see why it wouldn't serve to keep larger objects out.

Honestly, I'd more prefer it for a little ball fondling. The vagina can take care of your dick just fine, it's the balls that go neglected during vaginal, and this is like some kind of miracle solution to an age old problem.
