It makes sense that the night stalker's invisibility covered the parts of the dude in her, but I'd think the parts of him behind her would be as visible as the rest of the landscape.

If I remember correctly, the way that stealth tech works in Fallout is by "bending" light around the cloaked object, so it probably wouldn't be visible by that logic.
