An idea that popped into my head when responding to a comment by whatisdamatter whatisdamatter

There was no easy answer to this question though, because the kobolds aren't characters as such, just models I happened to make, and their colours are entirely alterable. So rather than the red kobold being x gender and the green being y gender, I happen to have male and female kobolds and they can be any colour I want, so I basically have a kobold harem on command.

And that got me thinking: we already know the dragon has quite the following of kobolds, as evidenced by this animation. There's no way one or two kobolds got a whole dragonic temple set up, it's got to be a rather large following. So my new head-canon (which I guess is just canon since these are all my characters?): Every dragon needs a hoard, but this one doesn't hoard gold. The kobolds bring him shiny trinkets and coins because they think that's what every dragon wants, and he allows it because their efforts amuse him, but what he really hoards is the kobolds themselves.

Kobold characters beware, stray too close to the dragon and you may end up as part of his collection. :P
