This one is PNG, not GIF. Yet another advantage over the other post.

Not sure why my comment was downvoted. Are there still so many people here who don't know animated PNG is a thing? And that PNG format offers a better quality graphic than GIF with better compression and a wider range of color without loss of detail?

  • How do you download this piece properly? When it's downloaded, (Just done by right click and selecting Save Image As) it turns into a still .png image. I would gladdly welcome education on how to properly download animated .png images.

It's not the downloading of the image that you have a problem with. The problem is the software that you're using to view the downloaded image with. It just doesn't support animated png.
The easiest way to view the animated png is opening it with a web browser. Web browsers support it and display the animation properly.

I think its because most systems do not support it.

I know Discord doesn't support it, it just sees it as a single frame, not an animation

This was deliberate choice by Discord precisely because the file extension is misleading. The service previously supported animated PNG embeds.

I love animated PNG for preserving animations in pristine quality, but the fact that it's viewed as a party trick to surprise people with unexpected movement likely leads to all sorts of spurious bug reports or complaints. I understand why a service like Discord doesn't want to deal with the headache, even if it is crippling support due to social factors over any innate technical issues.
