What's with the flag? I've seen it so often with this character but it has nothing to do with Linux so I don't see the connection with the proposed Linux mascot.

I'm not even a fan of Linux but I gotta admit this has made me fall in love with the character. What a cool story :0

(Mind you nothing wrong with the OS itself, I've tried some seven distros and none of them felt right to me. The OS is plenty nice, just not for me. <3)

Don't need the link, hun. While the potential causes may be *similar*, they're no more similar than gender dysphoria and schizophrenia or depression. One of the main differences, almost definitely the biggest, is that there are SIGNIFICANTLY more people who are transgender than there are people who have BID, and over half a century of studies have shown that the most effective treatment for people with gender dysphoria is to transition. We lose nothing by doing so, and become significantly happier on the long run. There's literally no reason not to transition. BID, on the other hand, has barely been studied at all, as it's incredibly rare. We may eventually find that the only effective treatment for it IS removal of the limb, though due to the effects that has on one's utility, it's obviously a bit of an ethical issue.

I blame Twitter for all of this. Twitter has caused more harm than 4chan, 8chan and Kiwi Farms together.

If you are on Twitter, do a favor to yourself and the world and stop using Twitter.

I'd say social media in general caused it, but otherwise, I 100% agree. Twitter was *especially* nasty, even before Musk bought it. I swore off social media back in...2017? Best thing I ever did. The news media (left, right, even neutral ones) definitely haven't helped things, either. Anger sells better than sex, it seems.

To be fair even if it *was* a mental illness, the "treatment" would just be transitioning, and the fact that people consider anything abnormal a "disorder" or "mental illness" pisses me off, like me being an argumentative person over things im passionate about being labelled as "oppositional defiance disorder" i just fucking despise authority and biggotry because they're abusive, that doesn't make me mentally ill, people are just quick to jump the gun and try to label you to make you seem invalid
