A pregnant belly’s pretty solid in regards to gentle pressure. It’d be probably be uncomfortable, but I can’t imagine it would be dangerous.
I guarantee you a mom this far along is thinking far more about the pressure on her bladder than any pressure on the bottom of her bump.

Oh I didn't mean from that I just meant like in general a pregnant woman should not be having to bend over even for the noble purpose of flashing her cleavage to a librarian.

That's fair, but a lot of ladies I've known this far along are fair stir-crazy with how pampered they are.
Then of course there's the women who still have to work or who need to be physically active for one reason or another.
(Also, I have the feeling that Rhoda here is the sort to be flirting and fooling around till the tail end of the ninth month.)
I totally get what you mean though. It's always proper to help folks who are this far along. They're doin enough work and carryin enough weight already.
