MemberI mean, rice cooker pancakes are a thing. Using my rice cooker, I can make single pancakes that are as big as dinner plates and an inch thick.

MemberYup, I use a standard everyday rice cooker. You know, plug it in, added the rice and water, push the button down and then it pops 15-20 minutes later. I simply lightly grease the pot and pour in your standard amount of pancake batter that would yield about 5-6 average pancakes. In the end, it results in a rather dense pancake that's about an inch thick and roughly the size of a dinner plate. Hell, sometimes I'll even throw in chocolate chips if I got that extra sweet tooth going on.

MemberCan't be that simple. How can a rice cooker do that?
Blodhgarm92
MemberI don't know how it can. I just know that it does and can result with thick heavy pancakes that seem more cake than pancake. It fact, I like to call them "mancakes" because their are big and man do they sure fill you up. And while mine don't come out looking as pretty and perfect, this image should still give you an idea.

MemberThey can do more than just rice. I've used mine for lots of things besides rice, especially egg omelets. You can literally bake cakes in a rice cooker. At the simplest level a rice cooker is a metal pot on an electric heating element. Some of your high-end models have different settings for multi-uses.
