Take In the Morning Air

..does that sound like an insult to anybody else? If it doesn't, it's probably because you're a d-hole.

Anyway, this picture was drawn because I wanted to test out a background idea of sorts. While I have the general style with which I want to make backgrounds in mind, there's one thing I haven't fully decided on yet- inked or not inked. This was a test of inked backgrounds, and I have to say I rather liked it. It was a lot easier and less stressful to paint, and really lets of focus on the colours I want to use instead of fussing with texture and lighting quite so much. Gives things an overall smoother appearance as well, which I rather like.

The picture itself isn't amazing but I rather like the effect, so I might be doing this sorta thing from now on. Was fun!
