It's due to the fact that too many people with OCs take it very seriously and end up "haxxing" their OCs into some stupid god tier class character who gets any and all the partners they want.

When it's an artist just having fun with a random character of theirs, that's a different story, but yeah, it's due to those over the top fucknuggets (in ANY fandom with OCs) that ruin everything.

yeah but the people who get mad at them make it a thousand times worse since they just scream and whine like children instead of offering advise or constructive criticism.
