You guys do realize what happened here, right? The author learned of that "you will never use it in your life" fact. Then used it. Used it as fodder for a comic, but it is a use nonetheless.
But that's not all. While the author got the use out of it, the way it was done means now it is all of us who will each be trying to come up with one. We've been played!

You can use it as a scenario for a surgeon/doctor who is trying to live through an apocalypse where either everything is mutating or plants are growing out of control.
