Remember that gagging and choking are two different things. Choking on food happens in the windpipe— this tentacle is going through her digestive system, not her respiratory system. It could cause a breathing issue, but there's more wiggle room (pun intended). It would have to clog the area with slime and she accidentally breathes it in, or, if she's smart and is breathing through her nose, it could press against her windpipe enough to prevent her from getting enough oxygen, but I don't know how strong a windpipe is vs how soft the tentacle is.

That's not how that works at all. Any serious blockage of the esophagus will cause you to choke. There's only one pipe from the mouth and nose that goes into the body that splits into 3, 1 for each lung and 1 for the stomach. So even if its coming out of her digestive system and going up her esophagus its still going to block off the split pipes that go to the lungs causing choking. Gagging is just having your gag reflex activated by a foreign object touching the back of your throat. You'll notice while you're eating or drinking, the moment you swallow, you stop breathing for a second to allow the valves to your lungs to shut and the food/water to pass. There is no wiggle room for something that big and breathing through her nose would do nothing because there can be no breathing at all.
