It seems to work well on desktop, just not my mobile methods. Not sure why, because theoretically downloading the file should have worked

This is basically now constantly happening with this artists stuff.

This isn't youtube or newgrounds or any other video site, you are getting the file that was uploaded, not automatic mobile friendly version. It's 5120x2880, over 4K and 60 FPS, even my gaming phone gets hot trying to play this file directly.
Select 720p or 480p sample from dropdown below the video if you are using mobile or low tier hardware device to view this. 720p is default for non-registered accounts and you can also change your default behavior from your user settings.

Checking the file itself only problem I can see is they are using VP8 which is essentially obsolete at this point instead of successor VP9, but nothing else and even that mostly effects the quality per bitrate.

Whenever it happens to me, I just change the fit size to sample, don’t notice a difference in quality
