New designs? Did a certain corporation give out a cease and desist?

The DMCA forced Fuf to not use Pokemon anymore, even her Patreon account got shut down because of that which really sucks. So she had to change their designs, and don't want them to be called Pokemon anymore.

  • This is usually the point in the show where Jessie and James from Team Rocket show up and provide comic relief (by making idiots of themselves) before they are forced to " blast off agaaaain..."

  • Sorry to hear about the DMCA, they keep placing DMCA requests but they have to realize how much money they are probably losing by doing it to fan-projects both NSFW and SFW. People are just gonna keep making things.

Yep, you can notice it a few pages ago where surrounding "pokemon" are just coloured animals

  • Sad.....

So how can one prove those DMCAs are legit and not some random fool impersonating that certain corporation? Forgive my ignorance but I don't fully understand how that works.

This is the second comic I'm following that got changed because of it, it's getting annoying very fast.

I’m wondering this too. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was some twitter purity freak faking DMCA claims to get people to stop drawing poképorn. Regardless I can’t really blame the artists for changing the designs, I bet it’s really scary to get one of those.

At this point I’m just waiting for Wanderlust, 9 Tales, and a few others to get smacked by them, too :/

Seriously, like... admittedly I don't know much about other franchises, but it feels like Nintendo (Pokemon, specifically) is the only one that throws around DMCAs like this. I've never seen anything even remotely similar happen to franchises like Sonic, MLP, Disney/Pixar (looking at you, Zootopia/The Bad Guys), ETC.

Again, not a lot of experience with other IPs, just something I've noticed.

Well it was nice while it lasted and while i still support the artist sadly my time with this comic is at an end. The new designs arnt pokemon anymore and therefore not appealing to me any longer thus its time to say goodbye to this comic. It saddens me that i have to do this but i came here for pokemon and pokemon only...im sick of comics like oversexed eeveelutions etc. having to change because of fucking ass Nintendo DMCAs...

  • I like the new designs. I makes them look unique. And as long as this comic can continue, I'll keep reading it. I've read it from the start and I'll read it to the end. Keep it up Fuf. We all love your work.

Nah it definitely appears to be the way, i think it was just a awkward posing issue though, making it appear thay way while in reality it attatches lower. It's more how you perceive the visual cue of how the tail wraps around the arm and if you can fill in the blanks, it's both the strong point and weak point of fill in the blank interpretation

Honestly its a known thing with Nintendo, I've seen so many projects lost, ones they could have even hired the developers of to make better 3D games, but they would rather just kill peoples dreams instead.

It is mostly Nintendo, most other companies don't care even a tenth of the amount.
Kind of makes me think they are a bit like Apple, how Apple sues people whenever they can

  • Which i dont understand is, artists arent allowed to use their (nintendo) characters when you want money for it, if you do it for free they wouldnt care. I hate thats artists stop because they dont make money anymore or dont wanna do it for free

Nintendo has a a history of shutting down several nonprofit games as well, one of the most popular being Pokemon Uranium. Also, for many online artists, this is their main source of income, so continuing the comic even as a side project, like Kuroodod's comic Oversexed Eeveelutions, could risk another DMCA complaint even though they aren't profiting off it in any way.

Well he still kinda does continue the comic but just rarely because he wouldnt do that comic for free, the reason why i started hating kuroodod, as soon he wasnt able to get money from the comic he made he just didnt care about it anymore, because he doesnt like making stuff for free

You realise that artists need to make a living right? Of course they aren't going to prioritise stuff that doesn't make them money. We should be glad kuroodod is updating it at all.

Hasbro have issued their share; Pony Tale Adventures is a good example, and Pony Waifu Sim doesn't have canon names by default to avoid it.

Yeah, I feel like it is kind of a bad move on Nintendo's part to try to get rid of fan content like this, because pokemon isn't making porn that suffers from this and it can even help them by getting random horny people
to think "I remember pokemon, that was always fun maybe I should play it."

  • Ah that explains why they are new critters in the latest comics. Glad I have a IP of my own for my project, viva la anthro trains! Also screw Mattel, and Hasbro you don't mess lives up like that!
