I fully agree. Fiction and reality are pretty separate, and anyone who can properly distinguish the two isn't going to enact fiction out or use it to justify anything in real life. I think that any subject matter is allowed to exist in fiction, but many things should of course be avoided in reality. Just don't show certain subject matter to kids or those with mental conditions where they have trouble differentiating fiction from reality.
