I think rather than having tags for individual weapon models (we're actually not supposed to), we should make tags for the categories. This weapon is the AKS-74U a "carbine" (barrel shorter than 18 inches) variant of the AK-74. Categories could include handguns, assault rifles, sub-machine guns, carbines, precision rifles, shotguns, launchers, explosives, and artillery...

Yes, I said AK-74, because it was a variant of that variant of the AK-47... nevermind though, just a thought.

I think it'd make more sense to leave them as their group name. e.g. AK for AK-47, AK-74 etc. AR-15 for M16, M4 etc.

Um... I hate to intrude but the gun is a Kalashnikov Ak-47 assault rifle

One year late, but it looks to be more of the AK-74U variant.

I don't know for sure if it's worth the effort of being nitpicky about what gun Bic Mac is firing, but if Battlefield 3 is in anyhow accurate about the design of their weapons, that gun is a AKS-74, a variant of the AK-74 which is a variant of the AK-47. The AK model was very popular, so popular that sniper rifles and even shotguns share that model (Dragunov, Saiga 12k)

It's a fuggin AK, it doesn't matter what kind, it's russian, that's all that matters
