First off Green- eww! Shower water is nasty!
Oh but you’re too wholesome I could eat you!

I don't see how. It's the same water as the rest of the system. Exactly the same water.
Well... unless you live in a country that has separate crappy water for the shower that is.

  • I always do this. The trick is to leave your mouth open and let it fill up with water. Then once it's full, step back and swallow.

Hot water gets small traces of heavy metals from the pipes, that's why you shouldn't drink it. It won't hurt you once, twice or ten times, but if you gulp it down every time you shower you might get some health problems from it in a decade or two.

That also HIGHLY depends on how hot you actually have the shower. As extremely hot showers are also going to do more harm to you than drinking it.

  • Also, the condition of the pipes to your shower may very well be much different than the pipes to your kitchen sink.

All hot water from your pipes is the same temp, it gets mixed with the cold when you adjust it. So if your shower water is anything but ice cold, small traces will remain.
