Despite it being weird and unbelievable that sexual comments usually gets removed, some if not most creators dont really like creepy or sexual comments.

I myself dont mind them really, but i can see why steps are taken to ensure other creators who do mind them gets protected or at least stay comfortable on this site.

I don't really see how anyone can defend the mods here. I've seen multiple people get warned for non sexual comments and jokes. There needs to be some kind of discussion or reform about this problem on their team.

I think this was mainly because a group started a Discord and practically started a witch hunt. I guess it got to the point where enough is enough and now we have to have a "carbon neutral" comments site now because of such.

We're just out here handling user generated reports, I don't see anyone on staff reading the comments en masse. Most of the reports are from normal users with maybe a third to a half being from some users who do seem to real almost everything... those ones scare me

Posts are approved, or not, based on the Uploading Guidelines, or UG. The UG doesn't have anything against "racist symbols, 911 mockery, and literal mutilation" though we did make some updates regarding hateful content needing "to actively prove that they're relevant to both the furry fandom and our mission to archive furry art." - like, about 2 years ago?

It's true that you can simply avoid the comment section, but that is true for both those who want and don't want to see them. It's not about avoiding the comment section entirely.
This issue is only with certain kinds of comments.

There are plenty of other ones that don't put the focus on a commenter. For example, ones talking about the artist or the quality of the picture or the character.
These are the types of things everyone is ok with.

Muting would be fine for the more....prolific commenters, but I doubt that'd be effective given the sheer amount of users on e621

Aside that alone I've seen some comments receive warnings for things that didn't even sound remotely lewd. And yet all the same... Equally as-lewd comments tend to get by just fine?

To be entirely frank though, judging by some of the things said here that got warned, I think mods are just trying to discourage what they feel may be a possible personal attack. Which sounds reasonable in hindsight, but if it's said this much in such a short time by multiple people? Maybe it's time to make a change rather than just, y'know. Warning the people who point out something.

There is a chain of command which holds us all accountable.
Barring that, if you feel reporting us isn't effective, we can have an open conversation about it on the forums. I like a challenge.

It's a learning experience alright, but don't try to kid me. I remember being a vindictive little shit on Runescape all too well. I figured "well, they deserve it." Some people goaded me on. Made me believe I was proving a point, but deep down I knew I was doing it just because it felt good. It was impressing the few people who were encouraging me to act out, and I liked that attention too.

In hindsight, they knew I was an easy mark.

Once I was banned from the Runescape forums, I learned that some of my "friends" were spectacularly shitty people. People who ruined my life for a little while. These are the casualties you don't see or really think about. Maybe you don't want to think about it. Once you're out of the public eye, dragged into a private discord, skype call or elsewhere, what's stopping anyone from showing their true colors? Where else do you have to go? You already worked so hard for these "friends."

But I still had some good friends. The few good people patient enough to mentor me. In retrospect, they 100% knew the sort of shit that could, and did, happen in private. They felt a responsibility to their community. An anti-groomer for every groomer. I am extraordinarily lucky that one was the authority figure instead of the other.

Those mentors were willing to respectfully call out my bullshit. They probably HATED having to tiptoe around me, but they knew all too well that I would double down if they were too harsh about it. That's just the nature of a bratty teenager. There were times where those wrong people nearly succeeded in cutting me off from everyone else. Everything my mentors did, they did to prevent me from being stuck with the wrong people.

I learned from all of them, the mentors and the assholes. It all worked out okay for me. But not everyone can be so lucky. I could have slipped through the cracks just as easily.

On to the plot twist of the century.

I was still given a warning for "trolling" because I gave what I believed to be valid criticism of the mod team. Plenty of users have been banned or given warnings for making sexual comments that weren't creepy, myself included. Even if the reason this guy was banned was due to ban evasion, it still speaks volumes that there are enough instances of people getting banned or warned for sexual comments, and others getting banned or warned for criticizing that, that such a level of stigma exists that this is their go-to assumption.

Criticism is not trolling, not all sexual comments made on a porn site under porn is creepy, and not everyone who agrees with the two previous statements is unreasonable. I think I can confidently say that we're not here to bash the mod team mindlessly or whatever, we just want a slightly better user experience. And I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to ask for. We like this site (I do at least), we just see some issues and we think it could be better.

Edit: I also want to point out that it's a dumb point to bring up that you should report mods or start a thread to criticize them, rather than doing it right where they fucked up for as many people as possible, including mods, to see. I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to criticize mods openly, or why you would tell us not to, unless you deliberately want to lessen the spread of this sentiment as much as possible. If the criticism is only given in user reports and threads (that the mods can shut down btw) then this gives mods the power to simply ignore criticism, as in it allows them to pretend that no such criticism exists at all. This is where the infractions happen, I don't personally see why the criticism shouldn't happen here too.

Once I was banned from the Runescape forums, I learned that some of my "friends" were spectacularly shitty people. People who ruined my life for a little while. These are the casualties you don't see or really think about. Maybe you don't want to think about it. Once you're out of the public eye, dragged into a private discord, skype call or elsewhere, what's stopping anyone from showing their true colors? Where else do you have to go? You already worked so hard for these "friends."

But I still had some good friends. The few good people patient enough to mentor me. In retrospect, they 100% knew the sort of shit that could, and did, happen in private. They felt a responsibility to their community. An anti-groomer for every groomer. I am extraordinarily lucky that one was the authority figure instead of the other.

Those mentors were willing to respectfully call out my bullshit. They probably HATED having to tiptoe around me, but they knew all too well that I would double down if they were too harsh about it. That's just the nature of a bratty teenager. There were times where those wrong people nearly succeeded in cutting me off from everyone else. Everything my mentors did, they did to prevent me from being stuck with the wrong people.

I learned from all of them, the mentors and the assholes. It all worked out okay for me. But not everyone can be so lucky. I could have slipped through the cracks just as easily.

Oh wait actually, i do, well its not a fun one but it might be an interesting one.

Dage's Rookie Adventure was abandoned/shut down due to unfortunate circumstances with cost, and file corruption from a mix of SFM's bullshit, SFM's bullshit, SFM's bullshit and a 750ti.

Focusing on the bullshit first, the 1st one was from how small SFM's RAM usage cap is. Considering its 32bit, it can only use 3gb RAM, so if the software's ram usage goes above that cap, it crashes, sometimes with an error, sometimes without one and just hard crashes.

2nd bullshit is from undoing/ctrl + z-ing too many times. Turns out undoing too many actions at once increases the ram usage which contributed to the first bs. Which also leads to cursed shit like this (cursed graph line example) https://twitter.com/A1pH4W01v/status/1520868204805255168?s=20 and making me redo the entire shot if it happens.

3rd bullshit was from having too many shot clips in the same session. There is about 20 shot clips in said session (for different angles or model spawns, ie cum), and god forbid you try to move or extend the shot clips or else, you guessed it, INCREASES RAM USAGE.

And finally due to my old specs (especially my 2gb vram 750ti) and the abundance of lights and rigged models in the session (40 lights, 8 shadowed due to cap, 32 unshadowed), the session, more specifically my PC had a chance of crashing because the GPU was constantly at a full load, which corrupted the data with every crash, and fucked up the GPU in the long run.

Plus, with hundreds of hours piled on the session and the bills coming in, i had no choice but to abandon DRE's project to work on other commissions.

Will i continue it? Ehh no. Its too long and unfortunately Dage's owner has been changed since then.

But to conclude the story that nobody asked.

Chrysalis told Dage that she was trespassing since shes in Chrys' "office", but to make up for it, Dage just had to do some hardcore, 10 minute sex starting with a handjob and ending it with a facefuck. Once thats done, Nala and Rena came back to check on Dage, as well as Krystal and Cinder to clean up the mess theyve made, only to see Chrysalis (the boss of the place apparently) on the bed with Dage.

Some fuckery ensued with all 4 panicking but Chrysalis calmed all of them down, before turning to Dage asking her if she can continue on pleasuring as the screen fades to black.

From what I know about this site's tools, the closest thing this site has to a 'muting tool' is its blacklist feature: IIRC, if you put someone's username into your blacklist, it blocks them the same as with any image, hiding their comments and forum posts from your view.

Of course, the biggest problem with this is that it requires people to use their blacklists, which is something people complain about.
And, unlike your proposed 'mute' system, blacklisting a user only hides their comments from individual users (rather than site-wide).

I do think a mute system could be something the admins/owners might consider investigating. Someone having their ability to post comments revoked should they violate the RoC too many times might be something to try.

(Though, I will admit, the difference between 'muting' someone and 'banning' someone for breaking the site's rules is negligible. I mean, you'd basically be choosing between "letting someone continue using their account, just unable to post comments" and "preventing someone from accessing their account")

Funny, considering a lot of the animatronics aren't adults but kids haunting the suits they were killed in. Yet don't see you complaining about the "blatant pedophilia" there. Calling these fictional pieces "literal child porn" proves that you can not separate fiction from reality and should not have access to the internet for the safety of yourself and others.

I've seen this exact thing happening on YouTube just the other day.

A YouTuber (Cougar macdowell VA) created several shorts depicting the Smiling Critters from Poppy Playtime with these snazzy, somewhat mature redesigns.
Almost every one of those shorts has someone saying "for anyone saying 'hear me out', just remember these characters are canonically children"...

These people are seeing someone making art/animations of these Care-Bear looking characters (who aren't even real, mind you) with nifty outfits and feminine curves being placed upon them, and are acting like they're looking at cp.

I mean, sure, the lore of Poppy Playtime has children (and adults) being used/harvested to create the sentient toys seen in the game. But its not real.
Neither the children mentioned in the game nor any other character seen in the game are real. Yet there are people acting like they are.

Imagine if these people took all the effort they make hunting down harmless fictional shit and turned their attention towards hunting down people doing actual fucked up shit to real kids. They could make a real positive change but would rather waste efforts.
