I'm not versed in Pokemon lore at all, but wouldn't it be a LOT harder to destroy a Pokeball? Cus Mama Sneasler just shredded that thing in half with no issue, and honestly I thought they were more powerful/resistant to damage than that, given that they can hold Pokemon inside them

That one was QUITE LITERALLY made of wood. And a Sneasler can easily slice/tear through stone. That ball stood ZERO chance...
There are also a respectable number of instances in both the anime and manga that shows that the pokéballs are not that resilient to begin with, after all... They are mainly used when a Pokemon is exhausted or unconscious after all.
