no, because if you can't be fully transparent with your partner starting out, YOU'RE going to doom the relationship, in surprises like this, they need to explain what your game plan is and know how to mislead them, cause, like with her cold, if something goes awry, no one is going to have fun.

my sister had one at a ski lodge wherein she KNEW they were going to be there for 3 days, KNEW she was going to hate it cause she, unlike my in law, hated participating in sports, and knew she had to indulge his interest just to be nice... only to be blindsided with, what was essentially a carnival, snowboarding competitions, hocky play offs, christmas light displays, ice skating and carving competitions with tutoring lessons for the uninitiated, and a fucking cooking competition wherein the audience got to try the food, only after the show, for free, and topped off with a fireworks display the last night before they left, he, not even once, jumping on a ski lift or snowboarding.

so... yeah, take it from him, DO THIS SHIT RIGHT FELLAS!!!
