The clasping of hands is seen as a form of begging and the prostrating(-esque) pose is a form of Japanese etiquette "Dogeza" (土下座) used for more wholehearted and sincere begging (and other things). The final handstand is just like the dogeza, but... y'know, more extreme since you can't go any lower than the floor.
