  • I like Starbound over Terraria just because it's easier to mod. I never did a mod before, but I did pretty quickly for Starbound. And the system is pretty neat, just needs more content.

  • not sure why this post got flagged as advertisement, since the mod is completely free and non-profit. the only advertisements it has are mentions of commissions and patreon, which don't exactly cross the line

It didn't get flagged as "advertisement", although once again this advertisement post isn't tagged with advertisement...

The flag itself is bogus, but someone clearly doesn't want this here.

It didn't get flagged as advertisement, it got flagged as "Paysite, commercial, or subscription content".
You want to use this flag for patreon-only or subscription-only content that shouldn't be available to the public, aka pirating/reuploading premium stuff.

However, the video is freely available on inkbunny and twitter, so I don't understand why this was flagged as paysite/commercial/subscription.

Even if the mod required payment to access, the mod was not uploaded to e621, only the video. And as far as I can tell, the video itself is freely available to the public.

  • Unrelated to the flag:
Since the video itself claims the artist is "LewdGuard" (as does your twitter/inkbunny/loverslab/patreon), I believe LewdGuard should alias HighGuard. People visiting e621 to look for more of your stuff searching LewdGuard might not find anything.

You can use e621's "alias" feature to imply that both tags are one in the same. That way, people that search for "artist:LewdGuard" will be directed to "artist:HighGuard".
You can read more about aliases here, and request the alias here if you so choose.

Sorry, I used the wrong words... As I said, I've never created my own mod before, and it was easy on Starbound. IDK about Terraria.

Terraria doesn't even support modding natively. You have to install a third-party launcher on top of the base game to use any mods, and a lot of the mods don't play well together. In Starbound, most errors just result in items turning to green cubes.

The mod loader is listed on the steam store alongside the game, and it shares a couple of devs with the game itself.
And im not sure how long its been since you've used mods, but mod conflicts are generally quite rare, aside from balance issues.

Are they all male, or both female and male?

Aside from plusle, they all have male and female versions.

Plusle is always male, but minun comes as either. Plusle and minun are treated as one object in either case.

    Plusle & minun accomodate m/m/m, m/m/f, m/f/f. Unfortunately, there's no f/f/f capable version.

not to mention Starbound has the most problematic engine of the two, and not just for optimization issues. meanwhile Terraria's been leaps and bounds ahead in technical aspects. it definately helps that TmodLoader's community works hard to make sure their releases and frame works are stable. this coming from someone who plays starbound over terraria most of the time and has modded both. the only thing holding Terraria back in my case is that having multiple worlds is a pain, whereas Starbound generates them over time leading to variety in terrain without needing local saved maps.

It's a shame Starbound never got to live up to its potential. The foundation for a great game was already there, but the publishers stunted it and killed it with an uninspired plot and generic gameplay loop.

Lmao, who's mass-downvoting anyone that says anything bad about Starbound? Everyone knows the game had way more gameplay, diversity and potential in the beta before they stunted it and rushed it into its current state. Now it's just a linear storyline and the races are nothing but a skin. Not to mention the amount of corruption and exploitation of minors and unpaid labor by Chucklefish during its development.

It didn't used to be, before tmodloader become officially supported you had to replace some files and other wacky stuff just to get the launcher to integrate with your game

They stupidly signed a contract that said they were UNPAID INTERNS without reading it first. A rookie mistake on them for sticking to thinking a company was above screwing them over. was a mistake on their part and shame on chucklefish for doing that to begin with.

and yea i was also there for the beta. it was rather garbage how i was stoked for the release with all the content it had just to realize they'd cut over half and made a story that was basically a overarching fetch quest. i prefered the original idea had they gone more with something unique for each rather than just slapping 20% of the original content together and calling it done.

I try to forget those days. the only thing thats come close to that frustration is trying to custom manage modded stuff for Skyrim... (aka, patch modding as i call it. don't try this if you don't have a saints patience...god.)

I literally bought Starbound because of this mod. This is no joke, I was happy playing a cracked version until I saw this exact video.
