Inspiration can come from completely random places, sometimes. I was browsing around some random images on the internet a while back and stumbled across this:
Right away I knew a picture had to happen based on it. The picture was so clear- the poor lass, strung up in a back alley somewhere and left to the whim of whoever may stumble upon her. At least a few of them were nice enough to toss her a few coins for her services. Maybe when her captor comes back to set her free she'll actually be able to pick them up.
So yeah. I spent way more time on this than I probably should have, and I'm kinda out of practice so there are some pretty rough spots. But there are some things I really like about it too! I think it's one of my best uses of overall colour thus far, and I think I finally managed to make a picture look somewhat dark without actually just painting everything with dark paint. Baby steps!
I really needed to get a little painting in, it's been too long and I was itching for some colour. I'm pretty busy lately though, so it'll probably be some time before I can do another coloured picture. I hope you enjoy it!

MemberI wonder if she put herself there... look at the chain, it looks like it was put around her wrists, THEN wrapped around the bar (all the links are wrapped in the same direction, towards her head) before the last loop went around her neck.. but it's so slack it's not hard to get out of.
Could be artist mistake too but either way, it's still a good pic. :)
