News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

  • I know many folks in here just prefer if the images are focused mostly on the female furry and that includes me as well.

But is it true that humanoid faces are really hard to draw well? Is that why a great chunk of human characters are drawn with a paperbag/helmet/mask or simply just the classic anon with as few facial elements as possible?

Maybe the artist (generally speaking) kept getting aroused by their work so heck with the details, get it out as fast as possible so its done?

I just drawed a bit many years ago, but my guess is that it's generally just for the self insert. That said, drawing human and anthro bodies is basically the same, but heads are indeed different, or at least I had to seek separate guides for human and anthro. Plus you could get away with screwing an anthro head a bit, since it doesn't exist in real life. But mistakes on human faces and expressions are easier to spot since we see them everyday.

The human brain is literally made to recognize human faces and the slightest change in them (like smiling, being sad, no expression)
So when drawing furries, you don't risk as much to mess up I guess
