Google defines "dramatic irony" thusly: "A literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character."

In this situation, the dramatic irony is derived from the fact that we, the viewers, can observe both sides and perspectives of this pairing, whereas the one on the left knows the one on the right solely through their hindquarters jutting through a wall, and the one on the right knows the one on the left only through... well, let's call it sensation. And otherwise, never the two shall meet!

farath — Today at 5:43 PM
not sure if containment cell or just like a bad workplace
McGack — Today at 5:45 PM
or good workplace

it’s for their own safety
maybe the right side is actually part of a very expensive rp, and the person on the left is the i overworked employee. who’s to say

  • Unless some additional context exists to this, this is not an example of dramatic irony. The audience simply being aware of something the character(s) are not is not it. An example using this setup would be if the characters were married to one another but had each individually gotten bored of their sex life and secretly decided to cheat on the other and they chose what seemed like an anonymous route: Sex through a barrier where neither could see who the other person was. And the novelty and forbidden nature of this turned them on so much that they kept returning to the same place to have (in their mind) taboo sex.

And thus, the spice they missed from their sex lives that drove them to cheat is filled by their actual partner, which means they never actually physically cheated at all. And as the audience we knew this the entire time. That would be dramatic irony.
