News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

  • Most of the feral content on the site thankfully have some cartoony aspect that anthropomorphise them a bit.

Trying to make them too realistic is an easy way to fall into the uncanny valley.

Also I like when they're still sapient/sentient in any way.

  • I love that you can draw just a regular-ass animal, then with a few minor tweaks give them nuclear bedroom eyes. 🤣

    Tezuka loves that too.

  • Swap around "oh no now I'm a furry" and "socially accepted" and this is pretty accurate. Although, socially accepted could still fit in the anthro category considering how much media people have consumed with mainstream anthro characters throughout their lives and never really complained about it.

Realism goes too far for me. As a person who likes to keep the kink separate from reality, I want my stuff to be wild.

It depends of which context. I feel like to some people anthros are "coomer bait" while kemomimis from animes are normal and for others it's vice-versa...

Realism is also a part of a spectrum (with stylistic in the other end of it), I think I'm fine with pokémon that has a more realistic looking fur texture than a flat color that makes them like they have skin (same with mobians) and anatomically accuracies but I totally understand people prefering cartoonish styles.

I still believe that even people liking the more realistic pics on the site can still separate fiction from reality like with modern games with violence.

Also some great 3D animations with dragons can make you feel like they're actual characters with a life outside of the lewd moments thanks to romance which improves them than just being there for sex.
