So one morning I woke up and accidentally took 2 of my adderall in one shot...

for those curious as to how its possible that I take a double dose in one shot, heres how:

I have a routine every morning that I follow exactly the same way every time ever since i've had safi (my rat terrier). That routine is Wake up, go pee, let the dog out, feed the dog, let her out again to poop, take Adderall and make coffee, let the dog back in, sit down to art. its been the same every morning since weve had safi and since ive been on Adderall. I can do this routine without thinking, and doing it without thinking is exactly how I accidentally took two...
I have TMJ...I woke up with jaw pain this morning and meant to take Advil. My muscle memory reached for the Adderall instead of the advil...my mind said take 2 advil, so I grabed two pills and took them....keep in mind my meds and the advil are both the same size and same color. Not only was I not paying attention as I went about my morning routine, but I was also still half asleep from not getting a full nights rest. it wasn't until after I took them and let the dog back in that I realized that the open container on the counter was Adderall, not advil...

Needless to say...that was the day I learned that I could indeed see sounds.

I'm WAY more careful about my routine in the morning now thanks to this little....ordeal...as much as I would love to be a superhero, thats not the way I want it to happen XD

I drew this picture the day it happened because one of my friends told me to

Adderall is used to treat ADD. It stimulates the mind and prety much forces your brain to focus kind of like Ritalin or other ADD meds do, only the difference with adderall is its an amphetamine. i.e. pharmaceutical grade meth.
The first time you take it, you go through something called "hyperfocus" in which you have immense levels of energy and you have to DO something productive or you're going to explode... I remember when I first took it, I was not satisfied until the entire house was clean...I had to do shit. HAD TO. Too much energy and focus, nothing to use it on, had to do something.

After the first few days of taking it, the energy buzz wears off...but the ability to be alert and focused never does. For me its a godsend because without it im a brainless zombie...i cant even drive without ending up in the grass or stopping in the middle of the road because my mind starts to wander...since I've been taking it I drive better, work better, and don't fuck up on simple daily tasks like I used to because my attention couldn't be held for longer than 5 seconds.

The only shitty side effects are the forgetting to eat part...adderall does have an ingredient in it that has the tendency to supress your appetite. so you never feel hungry and thus forget to eat until you ralize that you havent eaten in over 12 hours and your body is shaking. I've lost well over 30 lbs since ive been on it because of that .-. but i've learned to set alarms on my phone to remind me that its time to eat something XD that and once youve taken it long enough, your hunger isnt as supressed anymore.

It really is amazing and does absolute wonders for me. My art has improved rapidly thanks to my new ability to sit and focus for several hours at a time without needing a break. Its incredible.

  • I've been given 50 mg of Ritalin when my normal dosage didn't work, and I was diagnosed with ADHD back then. I was 7 years old, and it still didn't affect me much. Concerta and Adderall were the same. It was like they were just giving me aspirin rather than actual medicine. :I

Sometimes some medicines just don't help :( everyone is different. WHat helpes one person might not help another or will make another incredibly sick. I used to take ritalin and all it did was make me pass out...Adderall is the first med for my ADD that i've taken in over 12 years. Mom stopped giving them to me after she saw they werent helping and just making me fall asleep in class (instead she gave my sisters and I coffee instead of some nasty depressant and lo and behold, we could pay attention in class, how bout dat shit). We werent hyperactive, just not focused....we diddnt need to be calmed down, we needed to be woken the fuck up and motivated)
My mate is the one who suggested recently that I go see a doctor for my ADD because of my inability to pay attention to crucial things...my lack of focus almost cost me my job once, almost killed me while driving, etc. I was afraid the doc would give me ritalin again because I know for a fact that ritalin does nothing but make it worse, but thankfully he diddnt, and ive been a normal functioning human being ever since.

I'm sorry it diddnt help you :( maybe what you need is something that isnt medicine...like an herb or vitamin or really just nothing at all. I personally dont believe that ADD or ADHD can be properly diagnosed in children...because children are children. they are hyperactive, they want to play, theyre not meant to sit in a classroom and focus on a lesson for 8 hours straight so they are going to stop paying attention and lose focus. its not a disorder, its called being a child...

9 times out of 10, absolutely nothing is wrong with the child. I personally believe that things such as ADD and ADHD cant be diagnosed right in anyone younger than adolescent age and that's why its such an overly diagnosed disorder...

Believe me, it was making me rather moody and did make me focus but not as much as I wanted to. I ended up getting in trouble most often, being dependent on a drug that I've taken since I was a kid. Medicines changes, and it changed me a bit, got even more moodier. I had to attend special classes because of it, and at the age of 16, I decided to stop taking my medicine, against my mother's and doctor's advice. My school psychiatrist would wonder why I began to behave better after two weeks, and I told her I stopped taking all medicines. I graduated from school with a normal diploma and ended up with good grades overall.

As you've said, not all medicine that we are told will work will function for everyone. We're all nothing but snowflakes, each one with a unique health. :V

  • Hmm, yeah..keep in mind that long term medication plans on the same prescription, can lead to the body developing a tolerance (actually a captain obvious, it's not much different that the illegal stuff in that sense). Being on 700mg of Seroquel daily, and no real effect anymore? Seems legit.

Well, we all know that if you take seven aspirin that size, that would be the last headache you will EVER have. Lol though.

Actually, I've been taking an additive that was prescribed to me lately, 's called rispradone, and it's actually brought back my appetite. I take dextroamphetamines, because I've actually got ADHD, which is just wonderful to deal with, but they have the same effect of just making your stomach go into a coma and forget it's hungry, should look into it.

You see, when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much...

They give their children wonderful hyperactive drugs. I'm sure the first two weeks would be hell for any parent that has to deal with these initial effects

  • Ok, now read It again with the climax of a Hans Zimmer song playing in the background. Almost any of them should to(my personal favorites are no time for caution and dream is collapsing)
