MemberI didn't know you could blacklist a combination of tags.
Like, if you put:
bikomation censored
bikomation convenient_censorship
bikomation advertisement
You can get rid of all of this pathetic bullshit without a fear of blocking something potentially interesting.
Of course I'm not the kind of person who is gonna tell other people what to do. If you would rather keep sending the message, sure, no worries.
But I just thought I'd mention it, since I personally haven't been using a blacklist because I didn't want any collateral damage, and no one ever told me I could block a combination of tags and make it really targeted towards the exact stuff I want to block.
I hope at least someone finds this helpful.
Or at least more helpful than getting reported and called a bitch...

MemberActual props to you for teaching blacklist literacy. I honestly didn't know you could get that specific with the blacklist, and going out of your way to explain it to those who may not be in the know is leagues above handing out warnings to people upset with the animations
ShiningWolf
MemberI do agree artists need to eat too. Hell if I can find a Patreon or something I'll pay the price. I think it's a great animation anyways and well designed.

MemberSo Rocket's humping off against his tail and this somehow generates a vast number of downvotes. I guess their line of thinking is this is the censored version and the real one will have his dick in his hand, but it seems perfectly fine as is.
Zeorp
MemberI think this is hilarious. As with many Bikomation posts, I actually like the convenient censorship. Obviously not everyone will like it, but it leaves a lot up to the imagination, and the bewildered expression on Lylla is great, in my opinion.
Puff6011
BlockedMy issue with biko isn't his censorship or his patreon, it's how he uses these things.
I would be way more ok with all this if it weren't for the fact that these gifs are often paywalled for 6+ months at a time( last public release took 9 months). Not to mention the ones that are never released to the public.
Also he make a very big deal about making large projects with long videos, but 90% of the these are 3 gifs each with a messy alt put together to a ripped audio that doesn't fit with it.
Also in order to actually view these uncensored, you need to spend 10 dollars, and you will only get the at the end of the month via DM. (if he forgets to send and you don't call him out right away he will tell you to buy it for another 10 from his gumroad as it is very unlikely that he will dm old packs).
Also looking at some sites like https://graphtreon.com/creator/bikomation if it is correct, biko isn't struggling financially (he also has an actual job, as patreon is 'just a hobby that he hopes will take off and he can work full time on it').

MemberIf they're sick of us complaining maybe they should actually do something about it
Seppo666
MemberObviously this discussion we have right here is about monetization, and it has nothing to do with diversity.
But I'm still gonna say that every community needs to have at last SOME kind of standards about what is acceptable and what is condemnable. That's literally what community means. It's a group of like minded people with common interests.
In general, furries are exceptionally tolerant and accepting people. You can create some really fucked up shit and get acceptance and upvotes from the people of this community, do you not agree? But still, even furries have their limits, and the further you go over that limit, (if you go to the cheese grater territory for example), you simply can't expect people to just keep "not minding" your stuff. At some point they're gonna start disliking it. But at that point, you're so deep in that why would you care about dislikes anyway?
Smooth Treader
MemberLong time here, like way before e621 first server crashes, but I'm weak with e62's inner workings... but Idk what's going on, like why does seemingly mentioning this artist get you a warning from a mod? I've seen users get warnings and bans recently from posts that, just seems a bit lame. at least by anything content wise with e621. But, idk. Do I need to start reading up on everything e621?
GuntherBorb
MemberYeah but this kinda reeks like bullshit considering the inconsistency of actually enforcing this policy. Considering with kabier and jasonafex’s return, there was a re-ignition of just blasting the two of them that had nowhere near a strict a warning system as this post has had.
Just about every other comment on post 4049715 could have received a warning with the exact same reasoning as the people on this post…but they didn’t. Not that I care about kabier or jasonafex, but I find statements like this kinda funny when it’s just not equally enforced.
GuntherBorb
MemberLol. Lmao, even. Even the ai moderator has been drilled with classic e6 admin flavor of justifying certain warnings for being annoying. Which as shown here is a subjective decider that won’t be consistent with different admins unless there’s been some company policy made explicitly defending bikomation or certain artists specifically. The post I mentioned was not the first post of kabier return, unless you mean it was the first NEW artwork they’ve made that was simultaneously posted to e6. I have no clue since I don’t follow them. While the first post of kabiers return certainly had warnings and bans rightfully given out, it’s apparently not annoying enough to continue warning/banning the hugbox. Seeing as how the only hidden comments were from the threshold of downvotes putting them there, and I couldn’t find a single warning or neg record by going to the profiles of each commenter on that post, unless I somehow missed one, and in which case please show me.
Honestly I wouldn’t have even cared if it wasn’t for the programmed smug remark from an ai to basically say “stop complaining.”
GuntherBorb
MemberAnd, from my own knowledge, I’ve never really known e6 to straight up delete comments even from the “show all comments button.” In which case I can only see 59 comments but it says there were 63. If that’s the case and some I guess pretty abhorrent shit was said that warranted completely removing them and giving records were said, then my bad, I’ve been misinformed/ wasn’t aware. Regardless it’s funny that a few profiles on that post have records from complaining about bikomation, and then not getting a record from complaining on a kabier post lmao. There’s gotta be some more shit to it haha.

Anyway, the entire situation here is quite an experience to read which is why I'm here for. I'm on neither of sides, just to watch.

MemberYa, I'm with you on this one. being able to mix and match tags in the black list is an extremally powerful tool. (You can even use meta tags like Rating:explicit or Id:12345) And I understand all too well the struggle of trying to avoid accidently hiding the good art from yourself.

MemberIt's funny that no matter where you go on the internet, there will always be threads like these, where there's basically constant fighting and bickering, and a very little percentage of happy/neutral/peaceful comments. Just makes me wish that the internet was a more friendlier and welcoming environment, and not some place where toxicity can spread and corrupt people's mental and physical livelihoods. Hopefully, some resolution can come into place here, and we can get some compromise between the admin/moderators, and the users on this website.

kylemelon
MemberWell, either this goes on forever, and both parties begin to hate each other, degrading the experience of the site for everyone, or one party or both begin to resolve this conflict. Hopefully, it's not the 1st option.
kylemelon
MemberWell, these are just my opinions, but if you think it's all compromised, that's cool. I just personally think that there's a lot of hostility here, that's all.

MemberOk so, thank you very much for teaching my dumbass blacklist literacy. While I don't hate Biko, I hate a lot of the adverts they post. This actually helped me a lot, and I'm glad I won't end up skipping out on the uncensored stuff when it's released eventually.
KamuraD
MemberAs far as following rules as laid out by the site goes, yeah. There really isn't anything Biko has really done to receive any consequences. But I think most people are more annoyed by some of the things he has done (I believe sketchy patreon happenings and so on) along with some of his more low quality pieces (either decently lazily censored images or ads that kinda just hurt the ears).
I doubt that most of the reasonable people here don't want him to release his stuff for free. I believe we just want to see him drop and/or change some of the bad habits he has in regards to his online presence or see some level of consequences brought upon him. Though in regards to the latter, that is pretty unreasonable as he'd have to be treated differently from the rules or new rules would have to be put in place (assuming something like "ads and content for Patreon, gumroad, and other services that may not be publicly released must follow the guidelines of the host site as well") which would presumably be a massive undertaking for the admins and mods to enforce, which at that point is much easier and reasonable to just keep solely to e621's guidelines.
At the end of the day, I believe Biko just suffers from a reputation issue, and the community has noticed. I just kinda feel bad for any mods or admins put on Biko duty
kylemelon
MemberThanks for having my back man, all love from here :), though I do wish the mods and admins would be more openminded and understanding from where we're both coming from.
Fennecpaws
MemberLmao do you guys actually get mad if you see a billboard for a Big Mac and then get angry when you realise you have to pay if you want an actual Big Mac?DV all you like, the artist doesn't owe you anything for your self entitlement.

AnythingButFoxes
MemberDifference is that McDonalds had to pay for the privilege of advertising to us in a dedicated advertising space. Nobody would be complaining if Biko bought banner ads on e6, it’s the use of the content side of the platform for free advertising that people take issue with.
MiceTeaEnjoyer
MemberWait I’m confused, if people don’t like it when bikomation posts censored content, why don’t they just blacklist it? I see all the other comments telling people to use their blacklist but all of those ones got downvoted, I fail to understand why though.

Cool that they aren't violating site rules and all by posting censored work and pseudo adverts (not what I'm mad at), but Jesus H. Christ. Bigger picture here, mods.
Lisu
MemberOh wow, that's actually scummy as fuck if all is true.
Calamity919
MemberActually managed to get a message back after four days of silence, only to be informed that you only get that month's pack. Nothing more for the regular tier. If you don't want to pay for gumroad packs, you have to subscribe to what they make look like donation tiers to the regs. And even then, the highest tier you can sub to (Diamond, at $30 a month) only rewards you with two old packs of your choosing.
They do not make any of this explicitly clear in the reward tiers.
Lisu
MemberBruh, that's like, against the TOS not to inform your customers properly about the tiers that offer specific thing.Dunno if they changed that.
Also, learned e6 recently banned Biko but the reason is also a massive bruh moment.
Calamity919
Member"Mass Tag Misuse." Yeah, you can say that again. Hard to really care about tagging things properly when they're literally just scamming people on external sites.
