What interests me is that the artist appears to have tremendous skill in doing landscapes, plants, clouds—those things are actually difficult. Why do most of her lions, then, end up being repaints of existing characters copied almost directly from TLK?

Capturing a specific style of character design isn't easy, she may have trouble replicating the style without basing it off one of the existing characters; or maybe she just does it to save time so she can crank out pictures faster.
