Most people don't have 120Hz panels. Mobiles have started to have 90Hz as standard now, but that's about it, so you are basically aiming to people who either watch at half speed or are gamers.
Also the benefit of higher framerate is that you get more motion clarity, but there's not really anything moving here. Tail is the most drastic thing moving around but even there, applying some nice object motion blur would've made it look as good if not better, because you can apply extremely nice blur unlike in games and for 60Hz displays the player is going to drop every other frame now anyway.
At the very least these seem like actual frames, got into huge fight with one artist who got lazy and just motion flowed 30 FPS to 60, with objects just morphing in and out of exsistance every other frame with huge artifacts all over the place.
