  • It seems that behind the cheery and somewhat awkward way he talks to the imp, he is hiding some pretty big trauma.

On top of that, Nah Nah's life work of showing the Dragon King how useful imps can be is all for naught now and she doesn't even realize yet.

You know, behind the funny Zelda references and interactions between the main leads, this is a pretty bleak comic.

  • I'm gonna start assuming that most generic RPG protagonists probably have at least a little PTSD from now on.

If there's anything I've learned, myself included, it is often figures with great smiles and a desire to help who have and will continue to suffer the greatest. Beautiful, colorful, funny, and creatives souls have often come with the cost of great horrors and tears. Not all....but enough.

Is obsession a material? Is it like an element in this world?

I take it to mean that in order to bond with a material they'll have to take a curse of obsession with it?

Mm, it's not so much obsession as it is the implication that curses are a material. I view curses as a kind of matter, or rather a universal glitch of matter that is so unstable it tends to become embedded into more stable objects or structures. They're glitches that are like fragments or corrupted particles of a higher will or desire from outward influences that gnaw at for a long while on whatever comes in proximity. In Nah Nah's case, the dungeon came to hold an object eventually by chance that was infested with a curse that compelled individuals to follow their desires. To unnatural and even terrifying degrees. Imp's bond with materials so she took a cursed material into her which plays into how she has been able to get all this work done these years.

Bottom line though is that curses can only get as strong and far as they're allowed to by help. Nah Nah just went to town and fueled that fire like she had a jug of gasoline.

    It was beautiful.

    Sees everything on fire.

    This is fine.

Yeah, the reason I chose not to show the life as it was before the tragedy was because I believe that for a lot of hearts, no matter how beautifully they saw their life, it is the horror of that beauty coming to an end that they are often left with. It was beautiful. It was.
