I personally think comics should forgo the use of Pokéspeak.

Well the "Pokespeak" is here for a reason. The artist uses it to differentiate between Wild and tame Pokemon. Or civil and uncivilized. the Riolu is just using it because he just hatched and hasn't learned any English yet. That's my guess at least.

What's that pokemon to the left of Riolu? The one similar to a Cubone.
