The way Dolan refers to Chain and Nabaul as an old legend makes me think that it happened (very long) before the dragon king broke the seal, or it happened far away from Endlen that it got twisted as being an old legend.

If it's the former, something must have gone really awry since the monsters got banished to the wastes, especially after Chain cultivated a peace between them. (I wouldn't put it past Methigon to have meddled in this)

I can't help but wonder about the imps in this world how they came to look the way they do, if they're based off of anything (Nah Nah sorta resembling a fennic) and such.
Because in a previous page we saw others of the species, but they seemed to all have different features, besides the "sharp' snout of course.

Though I might just be seeing good character design as some kinda "sub-race" or something lmao.

The imps are a curious breed, and it's kind of this weird idea I had in that they're subterranean dwellers who have the unique and odd ability to meld with and infuse material with themselves. Often times just as a physical response similar to how color changes can occur in an octopus. While all imps are born as hairless, boney things with a highly pale pigmentation, as they bond to materials, their bodies go through a kind of chaotic physical change. Some remain hairless, others develop scales or fur, feathers, etc. While additional meldings can produce additional changes, they're rather small compared to the first material introduced.

You can see this with Nah Nah when she takes off one of her gloves, the amount of materials she has absorbed and worked with. There are pronounced features that do not change which does include the pointed snouts. The initial idea for Nah Nah and Imps was inspired by dwarves, and as such, these large noses of theirs are rather sensitive to smells especially when it comes to deeper diggings into the earth. By design, they are like a mix between kobolds, foxes, and moles.

If you really, really, REALLY want your head to hurt, as one person pointed out in my other story "All that glitters" in Glitter's room there is a stuffed doll of Haburuh on a shelf that Glitter made. Glitter Goat is my anima and writer persona. She eventually writes the story with Thomas as a muse. (which draws parallels between the two. Large, dominating female queen and a smaller male soldier) On a meta level, the world of "I'm in love with the monster lord?!" isn't real, but because Heart's Trappings is its spiritual successor, it's a legend that exists to the figures of Endlen.

If I'm getting it correct, Glitter wrote IILWTML after meeting Thomas, it spread in popularity online to the people of Endlen, becoming an old legend.
But isn't Thomas from modern times and Endlen currently pre-modern times? Or is the story with Thomas also a creation of Glitter? Or maybe time just doesn't work as expected in hell? Or Heart's Trappings is also a story made by Glitter too?

HAH! So it was you! Ah bless. Yeah I remember when I read that and was all sorts of giddy as it ironically hit the nail on the head. And apologies, I guess I did not word it properly. Glitter exists in a different world and realm altogether. When I said it goes Meta, I mean it as in Glitter is my anima writer persona. So outside the art and comics, she is my writer name. It's all some big esoteric and silly way of saying outside the 4'th wall, Heart's Trappings is the spiritual successor to IILWTML which was written by Glitter, just as this story and all other stories are by Glitter.

And later, Dolan learns that this particular "imp thing" (licking the shell) means it's mating time or something, LOL

Edit: sorry about the assumption folks, I had someone contact me and fill me in on what was happening. It's mainly people coming from fA where the artist posts their work, but not having accounts / log ins located here.

Huh, 2 accusations of something improper with the votes. I'll assume this is a coincidence.

However I don't see the benefit of complaining in the comment section about it. If you truly believe there is impropriety involved, make a report on the post (and mention your suspicions about the other posts you believe have vote cheating).

And I don't get the assumption that if someone makes many bots to upvote, they can't fave it as well. Where the faves and votes come from are equally public to the moderators.
