Solarium
MemberAlternatively, you could just release the full version after a certain time has passed instead of paywalling us all and forcing us to blacklist you, thereby limiting your content's reach

MemberSo your saying doing what you love like, making art and such (which can get u money if done right) isn't a form of employment??- you might to fix that sentence my dood.
ginkei
MemberYou know that freelancing is a form of job? Not everyone want to be dependant on a salary (if not almost a slave to a corporation).
Sadly artists comfortably living off their job are scarce but at least not everyone need to do a debilitating job that kills the mind.
ginkei
Member"It's just a hobby" any hobby can become a job, making games is a hobby, mowing the lawn can be a hobby to some.
Art is a form of work and artists that does it well deserve to get paid, I mean actors for a movie are also paid for acting so why not other artists?
You just said there are plenty of ways to make money, making art is one of them.

MemberMy man Vegeta made me make an account just to reply to this awful point of view.
I'm not a 2d artist but i can tell you, as a twitch streamer, that drawing is not just a hobby, as streaming, it can become your main source of income and make it a job, that's freelancing. I'm not going to go into details because it is not worth to argue against the mighty Vegeta which must be underaged because they don't understand how the adult life works, yet they are here watching porn when they should be playing fortnite or something?
Please, grow the fuck up and respect people instead of throwing garbage posts here.
This also goes for you, Palpetinus, stop babycrying and get some maturity from older people.
Leanpeak
MemberAlright, allow me to get something a little straight here.
In the most SIMPLE way possible, to get the point through.
Monkey horny. Monkey want porn. Monkey see porn. Guess what? Need to pay bananas in order to see more than just the sneak peak of porn. Monkey mad. Monkey gonna write bad comment.
Simple.

MemberEither they're too young or they were raised by boomer parents that think that "working" is only when you're stuck in an office 8-6h for 6/7d filling papers and typing on a computer (or being a retail worker) without having time to creatively think because of how intense yet monotone it is. A world like that would be just like hell (or good for a dystopian book).
I may agree that some artists are overpricing their work but this is just economics (demand and offer, some people are willing to pay a lot of money for some stuff even if it's virtually nothing interesting) and usually quite rare, most artists are just wanting to be able to pay the bills and eat.

Memberi think
commissions leave a better taste in everyone's mouths than paywalls
thank you for listening to my ninety-five theses of the furry community
Mattisfond
Membersecond thesis:
public releases have never hurt anybody running off of the system of paywalls, and in fact have less leaks than those who don't

MemberLet's go through it step by step:
"You could release the full version after a certain amount of time has passed" - That defeats the purpose of the art. If people can get it by just waiting, they're not encouraged to pay, thus limiting the income.
"Forcing us to blacklist you, thereby limiting your content's reach" - No one is forcing anyone to blacklist anything. This is blaming the artist for the actions of others.
In short: The person in question is being a jerk to the artist and blames their own actions on the artist for needing money and using their art to get said money.
You can blacklist the artist, but don't say that you were "forced" to. You can refuse to pay, but don't advise them to make a decision that's ultimately worse financially in the long run.

MemberI seem really out of place but what is the name of the music playing in the background? i canβt find it anywhere and Iβve heard it before

MemberFirst of all, that's an ad hominem, it has nothing to do with the conversation.
Secondly, so what? We are talking about the same website that hosts various content (that would be frowned or illegal irl). As long as it's purely fictional there shouldn't be any problems (unless you consider it not legal then even talking animals would not count as being safe). You have some pics tagged as "bestiality" in your favourites, how is it not the same?
Thirdly, to see that you would've removed the default blacklist on purpose. What do you say about thqt?
Finally, telling someone to shut up is rude anx adding a ":3: won't change anything.

MemberIt's not as bad as bikomation but this still qualifies as sort of an advertisement in my opinion. I think it would uld be better to just pay for ad space if you want to adverstise your paid works, that way everyone gets a slice of the pie.
This kind of 'paywalling' will just cause unnecessary adversity.
