Well, the VA requested permission to dub it in the replies of the original, so it doesn't seem like it was commissioned. But maybe

    Also, why was this deleted??
Are sound edits of animations counted as duplicates, or is there something else rule breaking with this one? The sound edit part itself doesn't seem likely to be the problem, judging by other sound edits of works like Ruaidri's animations (e.g., this post, which was approved by Mairo). But I think I've seen that comic dubs are against the rules? This certainly doesn't fall under that category though.

I keep adding onto this comment because I'm trying to puzzle this out. I think I've figured it out. I obviously can't read Mairo's mind, but judging based on the VA's description on the Ruaidri's post and just my personal memory of Mairo as the janitor with the sharpest eye for file formatting, I'd guess it has something to do with this file being 36 mb, the original soundless version being about 26 MB, and the Inkbunny source video being 52 mb. Seems like there's some funkyness there. But only one person really knows, and the deletion reason being that it's an inferior of the soundless original makes me question all that.

If anything, this was the superior version? Why delete?

Mairo is in the right on this one, when I had approved this post I failed to notice the decrease in resolution from the parent post to this one with the added audio.

  • The animation and expressions are very cute, and the voice acting and sound design are next level. You can hear his exhaustion in the last minute.

  • So this confirms it's a male?, in any case it's one of the best loop animations I've seen, great job everyone who contributed to this.

  • Didn't know softestpuffs did VA! Good work on riding the line between pleasure and resignation(among other things).

I mean, I think this is a fan dub, so I don't know if 'confirms' is the right word here.

  • I'm surprised the sfw aftermath images aren't on here, they really complete the story. they're on dragonweirdo's Twitter if anyone is interested.

The original is in 1080p, this edit is only 720p. That’s the primary issue here. Bitrate (which usually = file size, but not always) is also relevant, but we don’t even need to go that far.

Under our uploading guidelines, edits are allowed, but they have to be at least the same quality as the original. You can’t just add your audio to a video and then output a lower quality video, because that’s dumb. There’s no reason to do that. Unfortunately, it seems that many audio editors have no clue how to handle video files, because this is a very common occurrence.

That said, if someone with a bit of video handling knowledge wants to rip the audio from this version and add it to the original without degrading the video quality, go ahead. That would make an acceptable edit.
