Roommates Halloween

Costumes and some silly antics going on.
Seems Vanny has quite the hidden stockpile of costumes, for some reason, as well.

Banana Rabbit was offensive at some point?

It's news to me, too. The only theory I have is that it was part of some sort of racist joke against black people.

Monkeys are often shown as liking bananas, the word "monkey" can and has been used as a derogative term for black people, that's the basis behind my theory. I'm, admittedly, grasping at straws here.

Honestly, I've no clue what this is about. The only thing I can think of when it comes to banana costumes is "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time", and I'm pretty sure there was nothing offensive about that.

In the story, Roommates: Memories of a Hairless Ape, Mike is a human that is transported to a different realtiy/universe that is full of anthromorphic animals. He ends up living with several groups in lower rent housing. Each group consisting of a Bear, Rabbit, Chicken, and Fox. A Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy. Mike is thought to be a primate since humans are fictional creatures here. Him being hairless is excused as a cosmetic/medical choice.

So Beanie, one of the Bonnie's, dressing as a banana could be seen as offensive towards Mike whom everyone but one other character thinks is a monkey.

It'd be like a white guy dressing up as a piece of Fried Chicken with a black guy. Possibly racist, possibly just a stupid costume.
