She honestly has a better chance with him than Sonic.

That's because sonic only likes humans

Fun fact, originally sonic was going to have a human fan girl named Madonna but was later changed to the much more child friendly Amy the hedgehog.

In the cancelled game Sonic X-treme, his love interest was going to be a cat named Tiara.

So, it's not that Sonic only likes humans, he just doesn't like Amy that way.

  • Sonic was more afraid of how over the top Amy can be. He's not against going on a date sometimes, but he doesn't like to be forced into anything.

To add to this (even if late), Sonic has a fear of being held down in the past. His philosophy is that "tomorrow won't wait" and Amy has a drive for, say, a "happy normal life" with him, and he can't stand that idea.

Or he just doesn’t like Amy that way

If it was just that I would say that, but Sonic outright has mottos and a lifestyle that prevents him from thinking about his past. This is due to an unknown past that he refuses to talk about. Blaze's words ring way too close to home and Sonic has NO quippy comeback to what she says.

The movie version has an elaborate backstory, but if it's remotely akin to what actually happened to Sonic in the past, that's something to want to forget about, other than that one message:

    "Just Run."
